Summary:
1. A new station, JS2A, will be added between JS2 and JS3 to serve future demand in Tengah and is expected to open by the mid-2030s.
2. JRL Stage 1 opening is delayed from late 2027 to mid-2028, with interim shuttle bus services beginning in late 2027 to bridge the connectivity gap for Tengah residents.
3. LTA is commencing engineering studies in 2026 for a dedicated Tengah Line to further enhance long-term rail access for the town. -> Additional updates indicate proposal to link Tengah to Bukit Batok, Queensway, Bukit Merah and the Greater Southern Waterfront (2040s).
4. New and extended bus services, 97, 97e, and 181, will improve Tengah's connectivity to Jurong West and the Central Business District starting March 2026. -> Updates: 97/97e extended route started on 8 March 2026 and 181 extended route will start on 14 June 2026.
